Ted, I just put my Cub back together last month, ran water through the water jacket and installed a brand new radiator. Well, after running about thirty minutes and having the overfilled amount of water blow out of the overflow tube, I shut her down. The bottom of the radiator was still cool, as was the lower siphon tube attached to the block. The radiator cap was hot! After about 30 minutes of sitting, the heat kinda evened out. Anyway, I KNOW my system is clear and it shows the same symptoms. I just think it is the nature of that thermosyphon system to work that way.
