My newly aquired 46 H developed a exhaust leak. So I took the hood off to take a gander under there. I found that my ol' H doesn't have a round pipe threaded into the exhaust manifold, but a rectangular flange that bolts together with two studs protruding from the exhaust manifold. I checked my books and they show a round pipe. I called the dealer and he told me that they made a few like this ( with the rectangular flange ). However, the dealer said there isn't any gasket between the two surfaces, is this correct? Does anyone else have a exhaust manifold like this, and if so are you using a gasket? I'm thinking of using some high temperature rtv sealer to quiet things down. Any other ideas? Thanks!
