Hard steering on a WD9 is indeed a subjective topic but some did steer harder than others. Have you have driven others to compare it to? Try to get the slack out of the steering. There was an IH optional power steering - even for models without hydraulics. I've never seen one but it's in the parts book. When we were using a WD9 in the field Dad put a wheel off of a 650 on it. They are two inches larger diameter which helps a little. If you bought this tractor to work around an acerage you will be able to armwrestle anyone by next fall.
