If you don't remove the governor flyweight shaft (which drives the magneto or distributor, you don't need to worry. If you do remove it, there are already some punch marks on the gears. Find those punch marks and highlight them somehow, as they are a bear to find again. The governor lines up to two punch marks, the single punch mark on the cam gear is for lining up to the crankshaft.
