Recently sent a member of the family (my dads 1960 560 gas) to the doctor for a valve job and discovered exhaust manifold had several cracks and needed to be replaced. Shop that I sent it to says that new manifold he has available to him will require a new hole or modification of existing exhaust hole in hood. He said his manifold would cost about $160. Has anyone been down this road? Is hood modification minimal or will a completely new hole need to be cut? Haven't checked with IH dealer yet. Are new ones still available? Any idea what price for new original? Dad was called to be with Jesus about 9 months ago. He was and is a great guy who was a lifelong farmer that was so very proud of this tractor. I would greatly appreciate any info to help keep her as original as possible.
