I have had many 706 gassers some with the 263 and some with the 291 i like the 291 best and if tuned wright they are not that hard on gas . It also helps to run the 93 octain gas in them . I farmed with a 67 706 for years and pulled a 710 I H 4-16 plow and in our humps and bumps at 10 inches deep 35 gal would last me all day and into the evening but everything working like it should ,When i got it the dist was wore and the advance was not working well the valves were out of adjustment and the timming was off and the carb was almost junk . When discing with a 370 IH 13.5 ft.she would go two days running in high one on one tank and pullen a 4 row planter it would plant for three day on one tank. and a good day of planting for me was around 25 to 28 acres as i was putting on to much fertilizer in the row and would have to fill ever two rounds. I now have a 1486 and a 806 diesel and i still liked the 67 706 the best.
