When an engine quits, do your detective work to determine what the problem is. All any engine needs is decent compression, strong timed spark, & a burnable fuel mixture. Your engine was running so compression is not a likely cause of the problem. 1. Do you still have spark? Pull the coil wire & have someone operate the starter. 2. If you have spark, why don't you have a burnable fuel mixture? Is the gas cap vent plugged? How long before the engine will restart?
