Steve, Suggesting a good set of ear plugs would probably be a better solution. There's a whole lot of fun to be had pulling or working a tractor with a straight pipe. I'm sure that theres more than a few young guys smoking funny stuff and drinking beer in "quiet surroundings" that will wreck their bodies far sooner than a loud muffler. Lighten up old chap, a deaf ear may be an asset later on when his missus gets to nagging.
