CNKS, You may be right as to the years that the long outlet mufflers appeared. I do know that it was after the war. From the pictures of the ones that Marks tractors is offering, I would say that they are original type only in that they do indeed have the long, smaller outlet, but there were several versions of that style as to shape of the tops and bottoms (not inlet and outlet pipes) as well as seams and welds, and baffling. In this day and time, I suppose they are as original looking as one can get for the post WWII mufflers. Its sort of like Bill Clintin saying "it depends on what the meaning of the word is is". And yes, I would hope they last $79.00 worth.
