McCormick Derring Cooling System

I have a 10-20 that has had a real bad radiator leak. The previous owner just filled the radiator and let it leak, filling it periodically when necessary with plain water. When cold weather would hit, he just drained out all the water. As a result, the cooling system has built up a lot of rust. I took the radiator apart to rebuild it and took a bucketfull of loose rust from the bottom. Someone told me that after I get the radiator finished, I should fill the cooling system with a solution of muriatic acid a couple of times to clean out the rust. Is this a good idea and, if so, what concentration should I use and how long should I leave it in
