Regarding the loader, independent, "live" hydraulics are very important as are dual action cylinders an hydraulic bucket control. The loader on my IH350U is a tubular unit. The pump is driven off the front of the tractor so it's pretty much "live" even if the rest of the hydraulic system isn't, the tubular frame itself (at least on mine) is the reservoir for this independent hydraulic system. Also, someone else on this board informed me that on the 350 utility tractors (I don't know about the 300) they were available with or without PTO, and if they had it, it could be "live" or not. And this may be interesting to you; He said that "live" PTO would have a horizontal lever with a push button release on the right side of the seat, otherwise a transmission driven PTO would just have a rod that was pulled up or down to engage/disengage, look for that as an indication. The tractor is easily converted to a 12 volt system with an 10-SI GM alternator that has a built in regulator, Alternatively, the 6 volt generator can be refielded to output 12 volts (I don't know what wiring changes would have to be done to incorporate a voltage regulator if you go this route) If you buy this tractor, would be interested in sharing information and "war stories". Let me know....MrGadget.
