Think about it for a second...the generator generates the current, but it's the voltage regulator that...(all together now)...regulates the voltage. So to change the output of your generator to 8 volts, you would have to change the point at which the voltage regular contacts open...the point at which it REGULATES the voltage...and change it to 8 volts. Never done it myself, but I would think that, with a somewhat discharged battery and a voltmeter to monitor at which point the contacts open...and an insulated screwdriver to make the adjustment...it probably wouldn't be THAT hard. But that's just my OPINION. I've been wrong before...after all, I'm married.
