Ford Ranger FX2 4 wd Torsen limited slip 8.8 rear end 207 HP 6cyl 5sp automatic Pulls my 2N Ford OK on a two axle trailer that I borrow, however max towing (gross) is 5000 lbs. My 300 Farmall supossedly comes in at 4800 and then you add some 400lbs for the three point hitch and then I have a bit too much of a load. I would guess It would pull it fine. A 2002 Ranger is a better towing truck than a 74 F-250. At least in the arena of brakes and power. Sure, the drive train would wear out faster if this was done regularlly. Any way this will open up the chances of a F-350 as a replacement truck in the future. Or, more exciting would be a refurbished 2-1/2 ton ex-U.S. military truck (Duce and a half) or maybe even a 5 ton truck. Gotta love those 5 tonners. Biggest things on the road.
