Paul: I just helped a buddy intstall a T.A. in a 400. I did nothing to the PPA since they are set from the factory. I belive the only reason you may adjust the fingers is if you were putting used PPA/flywheel back in to account for any wear/play. Measurements in the IT manual though follow as --back plate(the plate which retains the springs)rear side-to-friction face of pressure plate must be maitained at 19/32" if fingers are adjusted. --release lever(fingers)height from release bearing contacting surface to friction face of pressure plate should be 1 5/8" These measurements are in the 400 IT manual but should remain the same for SMTA's since this T.A. fits SMTA/400/450/560/660. post back if I totally confused you.
