everal weeks ago, I posted a request for ideas on a fix for spun bearing races on the front hubs of my H. I tried to peen the inside surface per a couple of the suggestions, but the gap was too great. I didn't feel comfortable with just using Lok-Tite (another suggestion), so I checked with a local machine shop, and they offered to weld a bead and then machine it down...for $50 a hub. I was out of ideas, so I went to an old timer I had bought used parts from in the past...he had both of the races tight in in less than five minutes...for free... He snipped a strip of tin stock the appropriate size, ringed the new race, and wacked it in the hub with a socket and hand sledge...and they are really in there! He thought that IH used to sell a shim for this purpose...
