Joe: Your cables are the problem right now. Get some cables made up with 1 gauge wire and soldered on ends. I find the best place to go is heavy truck repair shops. They are using 1 gauge on those big diesels with 12 volt. I have resurected a lot of batteries and starters on gas Farmalls just by installing new 1 gauge wires. Many people think, oh it's only a small cubic inch gas engine, what they forget is it's also 6 volt. Too many of them have had replacment battery cables from auto parts store that are just too light.
