souNdguy, Sounds like you're having fun now. I have not got to my final drives yet. Still tuning things up after new rings etc...Have you been in to set up the valve clearances? Pretty easy job and worth checking into. Also I found a great improvement checking the governor to throttle linkage set-up as out-lined by the manual. My '49 is almost 20 years older than yours tho, so you should have a pretty good machine. I'm looking at picking up a '67 this fall to work on for the winter. I'm curious myself about the tranny/PTO lube system, I can't give you any educated answers, but maybe some others can shed light on for both of us.
