Pretty good responses so far. Just wanted to add that after seeing whether you have a cut-out or regulator, I think the wiring is a little different for the two. I believe the regulator does not require the use of the 4-way switch, thus for it is wired different. Also, the operator must control the charge by way of the 4-way switch if it is equiped with cut-out. It pretty much works like this, low charge is in the first setting. High charge in the next. Lights come on for the other two settings. Basically it is in the high charge setting when lights are on. With a functioning system, the operator must be careful to not overcharge the battery. Not sure how much charge it will show on low and high. I know my H doesn't show much of a charge on low setting. The gauge sticks a little, so I am not sure what it puts out on high charge either. When checking it out, you might want to make sure it is on high charge. I ussually just leave it on low charge untill I notice the battery getting a little week. Put it on high charge for awhile when battery is getting low. You can ussually tell how charged up the battery is when starting. If I am doing alot of starting and little run time, I ussually leave it on high charge. But when running all day on a single start up, make sure it is on low charge. Hope this helps.
