Your gas only F-12 would not have the roll up cavas or shutters. The purpose of these were to heat the engine up to run kerosene. The kerosene models would also have had dual fuel tanks and a kerosene manifold with a butterfly for holding the exhaust in the engine. The dual tanks are for running gasoline to start the engine and the maniflold was for getting the engine hot enough to burn kerosene. What I find most interesting is that I have never seen a gas only model here in the west. I really wonder if there were regional differences and why they were that way.
