My 1950 cub was feeling a little stiff when steering, so I stupidly added 30 weight oil to the gear box the other day without doing a search on this site for gearbox oil. I now know that I should have used 90 weight gear oil. This morning, there is a small puddle of oil under the "Happy Tractor" at the gear box. Have I damaged the lower seal? Should I remove the drain plug and drain all oil and then replace with 90 weight gear oil? What about the stiffness in steering? The steering wheel needs to be pulled back to center instead of coming back by itself after making a sharp turn. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
