Someone posted a while back,(now in archives), and used a gear puller with the jaws removed -- bolted chains to the puller and attached them to bolts in the holes for the top cover. This pushed the shaft out, with the help of a couple of whaps with a sledge. I tried that, it did not work. I was actually afraid if I tightened any more I might crack the housing. Also have pounded with the sledge (onto a block of wood) far more than I wanted to. Still zero movement. Forgot I had a brass drift, will try that, but don't expect it to work. I will probably quit and fill it with grease.
