This is not a hard change over 3-4 hours. May be just a bit longer going from narrow to wide as there are 4 hole on bottom side your front bolster. They would have cork put in them from factory. Depending on condition of cork after all these years you may need to run a tap on those threads. The steering controll arm just bolts on where narrow front is now. You will find this tractor will not be as manuverable after change over. When you find a front end and before you mount it, take steering controll arm and have it lengthened about 1.25 inches and tractor will turn almost as short as with narrow front yet give you stability of wide front. I have seen figures from 1" to 1.5" on forums for adding to that center controll arm. Just remember the more you add to it the less your mechanical advantage on steering wheel. That is how they made the newer big tractors turn shorter with wide front. 560 with factory wide front took an acre to turn. Same front end on 656 would turn with the best, and that center controll arm was only difference. The newer big tractors also had improved power steering. Keep that in mind. Your wheels will fit the wide front.

The answer to our needs materialized in the form of a '44 Farmall A, complete with cultivators, discs, single plow, a 5ft.Woods belly mower and one, mounted spare 9.00x24 rear wheel.
