There are holes provided to let you compress the pressure plate with half (every other one) of the pressure plate retaining bolts. Lets the job go much easier. They are untapped holes in the pressure plate housing and behind them are tapped holes in the actual pressure plate. Screwing the bolts in these three holes pulls the pressure plate back to it's housing, holding it in the released position. If you can't find the holes, pull the pressure plate like you would an automotive one and you'll see the holes when you get it out. You can then put the bolts in to compress the pressure plate for easier installation.
