you know you have to set the regutater (sorry spelling wrong)to 9.2 volts dont you ? check the voltage output without battery hooked up then inside voltage regulater you have to bend the hooks that one of the springs are hooked to to get it to charge at 9.2 volts but battery cannot be hooked up when you do this if its is at 8.8 to 9.4 volts I would leave it alone but to high boils battery and to low is no good either.
