When I was still looking for a tractor to buy I lifted the hood on an old tractor to take a peak at the top of the engine. (The hood hinged in the middle.) What I found was that someone had used a pencil to record the maintenance history of the tractor on the underside of the hood. It went back for years showing when the oil was changed, plugs cleaned, parts replaced, etc. This makes me want to see how far back I can go on the tractor I just purchased to find out who the owners were, what repairs were made, what it was used for, and where it was used. I know a guy that did this on a '56 Chevy he bought. He not only traced it back to the original owner, but also received pictures of the car and stories from everyone that owned it before him. Since there is no registration requirements for tractors it may be a little more difficult, but I'm going to give it a try. I was wondering if anyone else has researched their tractors when or after they purchase them? If so, are there any suggestions you'ld like to pass on that may assist me in my endeavor? Thanks, Fred
