The '48 C I just bought this September has a step on it. It is just a flat plate that is mounted to the rear axle with a couple of big U-bolts. Not sure where he got it since the previous owner has passed away. It is handy. On my '50 C I just step on the drawbar and then the axle. The step is definitely nice for a short-legged feller.
