Yep, check those cables for tightness and a good clean ground. I went almost crazy trying to figure out why my A wouldn't turn over AT ALL one day, despite having worked fine the day before. Finally stumbled on the corroded ground cable, right where it bolts to the tranny. I heard once that 90% of electrical problems are caused by loose or corroded wires. Even if it seems to be a tight connection, take it apart, shine it up, and re-assemble to be sure.
