I use an 8 HP 27" on a regular basis. It works great... on driveways that are less than 20 ft long. I normally do 4 fair sized (city) driveways that can fit from 2-4 cars on each and I can be out nearly all day clearing them if there's lots of snow. I wouldn't be too worried about the gravel. 900 ft of driveway will take a long time. If there is any real amount of snow you have to go quite slowly and as soon as it gets wet (the snow) it starts to cause problems. Hope this helps. SAm in NS
