yes as the guys said give it a good tune up! and make sure the battery is up. My 1948 cub had the same problem so I tuned it up and made sure the charging system works and it is good. One thing I did before I did all that was to put a lower weight oil in in it so it wasn't so thick in cold weather. that helped but now that is tuned up and has a good battery it has been no problems. although I think it helps to learn how the old tractor likes to start at different times of the year. once you figure that out it is easy!
