Oil Bath Air Filter I read yesterdays “Tip of the Day” and it was on this subject. I recently purchased a ’45 H. The young fellow was telling me about the tractor and he said, “It didn’t smoke until we tune it up!” The article indicated that if the oil used in this filter was to light it would cause the oil to be drawn into the engine. I am wondering if this is why this engine is smoking. Maybe when they tuned it up they put the wrong oil in this canister! The smoke is a light blue to white color. My question is what weight oil should be used in an oil bath air filter for a 1945 H and do you folks think this would cause the smoking? We pulled the plugs last week and they were oil wet. At that time I didn’t even consider that it could be pulling oil from this canister. Thanks for your interest and reply. Dave Olson
