You just press the button in,if all the glow plugs are working correctly it needle should go all the way to left. Indicates amps being drawn by glow plugs. As someone said earlier, you have to have patience, they take quite a while to heat up. they are actually "glow plugs" in the pre-cup chamber. Even have to Pre-Heat mine in the summer.
