I just put a carb kit on my 51 MD. I got it from Bates Corporation in Indiana. It wasn't cheap though. When I have to get to the carb on my MD I just take off the whole intake manifold. To me that seems the easiest. When you do that you can make sure that the butterflies in the intake are operating properly. Make sure that the linkage is adjusted properly too. If that doesn't work then try and find a carb kit. If you have any other questions let me know.
