Diesel fuel eats away at the inside of the hydraulic hose causing little floaties to go into the pump. The Case-IH hose also dampens the pulses caused by the pump. One fellow actualy dynoed his tractor because he didn't think there was any difference, he called back later saying there was 8hp difference with the Case-IH hose. I've run into several low horsepower complaints that an old IH hose has swelled on the inside and squeezed off the fuel to the pump. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to tell an old farmer to spend the money on a Case-IH hose when he can get it cheaper at the auto parts store. So in the long run it's much easier and cheaper to replace the hose when you replace the fuel pump.
