LC - If you have a VOM or DVM it's easy to check the light switch: First remove the wire from the field resistor (the wire that runs to the generator "F" terminal). Attach one test lead to the now empty field resistor terminal and the other lead to the ammeter/switch box cover plate. Make sure both meter connections are to clean metal! Set the VOM/DVM to measure resistance. Now with the headlight switch set at L the meter should show 3 or 4 ohms (I don't recall the exact value but this is close). With the switch to the other 3 positions (H, D and B) the meter should read 0 ohms or very close to it. If you get higher or infinite resistance readings the light switch is the problem Good luck! ...Bob M
