Well, I finally broke down and ripped into the front end to find out where the 3/4 turn of slop in my steering wheel is coming from. It is coming from inside the gear box as when I hold the "flat" worm gear from moving, the steering gear arm still moves about an inch. I am trying to remove the steering gear arm and having a bear of a time trying to get it off. Nut came off pretty easy but that arm is stuck to the shaft bad. I have soaked it with PB Blaster and fabed a 1/4" thick plate that I slid above the arm and attached my puller to. The plate is now all bent up from pulling so hard on it. I do not have torches to heat the arm up so it will expand. Anyone have any ideas?????? Help!!!
