TORCHED VALVES

Was just wondering if anybody has heard of any problems with valve torching. A problem that arose back when the 706 and 656 Farmalls came out. They would be running fine one minute and bang the next second you had a blown out valve. IH came out with a LOW-ASH oil to get rid of the problem. Some thing to do with the additives in the high detergent oil I believe. They had a lot of problems with fouled plugs also, had new valve seals you had to install.
