SMTA Live PTO Problem

My PTO worked until I put a load on it, then it stopped. I adjusted the bands according to the instruction manual, and it seemed to do what the book said. Could I have problem in the seasonal disconnect linkage, or could the coupling spider be bad? My plan is to drain the transmission and remove the plate under the coupling/disconnect. Any advice? Thanks.
