If it isn't lifting well, the first place to do some maintenance is the pressure valve on top of the exhaust manufold. Open it up by removing 2 bolts. Leave the bottom half in place. Clean out any rust flakes. Flatten the bottom side of the valve flapper with a file. Clean up the seat in the bottom half of the housing. After reassembling the valve, make sure the shaft turns freely and that the control lever is able to completely close the valve.
