New to this so forgive me if its a stupid question. Just started using an old Farmall 504 Gas this spring after 15 years of sitting. Tuned up and worked great for awhile- 5- 7 hours, then the sputtering problem started. So after checking this site, I think its rust in the gas tank. Pulled the tank yesterday and will clean it with rocks/ shaking method. Question: how to get rocks/ gravel behind what looks like a divider in the tank? Should I use BB's or something small? Question 2: Now that I have the tractor hoods off, I want to replace the Radiator- it was running hot and leaking. Is the radiator for the 504 similar to other models? Or model specific? Finally, would you do anything else while the tractor is in the barn, so to speak, to help make sure the sputtering problem is fixed? Thanks for the help.
