Ed: Jack the rear wheels, try turning them by hand and listen for the noise without engine running. You could have a broken brake drum. Look at the activators, these are not the same as Cub, A or SA. There is a fulcrum pivot at end of brake pull rod, and both ends of brake band hook to that. A broken drum can jamb up on that pivot device. My next move would be remove the pans on bottom of final drives. The large bull gear does not have a lot of clearence, thus broken pieces can jamb that as well. Those pans look rather flimsey, however I have seen them withstand a broken part being pushed by the bull gear.
