My Dad (who is way into tractors and helping massively with mine) has been trying to find his fathers' '43 Farmall M. He grew up farming with it and it holds some sentimentality for him. I was hoping maybe posting on a few of the larger boards would broaden and expedite the search. Here are some details- It was last sold in 1981 to two gentlemen in Summerhill, PA, which is near Johnstown. Some of the identifying marks are: Some bars were missing in the left side of the grill and had handmade replacements installed (Dad says,"What did a 16 yr-old know?) A V-shaped weld in the underside of the drawbar (where he broke it plowing and had it ground out and welded, held forever after that). A bulge in the water jacket on the left side of engine (from being frozen). A JD seat adapted to the seat post (looked bad, but was comfortable). Left side of light bar had a notch and a couple of holes drilled for something they mounted. Had the throttle without notches in it, Super M decals (which Dad says would be long gone, but you never know)since he had it bored when he rebuilt it, and some various ripples in the hood from Grandpa rolling it and Dad fixing it. Dad learned all he knows about Farmalls on that tractor, and as a kid, too. He is passing it on to me regularly in the form of help and advise with my H, and it is helping immensely, as are all of you and your experiences. I appreciate any emails I can get to help Dad with this. Thanks, Chris

I have a picture blown up and framed in my "tractor room" of a Farmall M. It was my Grandpa's tractor, of which whom I never got to meet. He froze to death getting this tractor out of the barn to pull a truck out of the ditch before I was born. Anyway my dad and aunt had to sell it at the auction,
