I'd explain to him the scope of work and cost involved. By the time you do all this, you're up to what a fully restored Super-C would cost so you might as well go ahead and buy one already restored and start using/playing with it and save yourself a years worth of restoration time. Of course you have to weigh in the value of the implements. And he doesnt even have the blade you want so you will have to buy that. You're still staring at lots and lots of labor and expense of repairs, so use this as ammo and convince him the tractor is not worth as much as he thinks it is.
