Hey Joe - After you get the ammeter wires swapped, do the following: 1 - Ammeter reading with everything off. 2 - Ammeter reading with ign switch on and motor stopped. 3 - Ammeter reading with motor running at max governed speed. 4 - If you have access to a voltmeter, take a reading across the battery with the motor running at max governed speed. Report back what you find and we'll see if we can figure this thing out! ...Bob M
