I am converting my SMTA from 6 volts to 12. I've been using the schematic & instructions found at this site. However, the previous owner eliminated the STOP/RUN button and installed a three position switch (Off, On/Run & Starter). The way I have it wired up now seem to work (warning comes on when switch is at ON/RUN position & starter turns engine over when switch is at Starter position). However, I noticed when the switch was in the OFF position I still had juice coming from the coil when changineg the points. I can't actually start the tractor yet because I am waiting for the new radiator. Any thoughts/help with my problem would be greatly appreciated. I should also mention that I have a solenod at the starter.
