Looking for advise on the best way to clean out old previously unused threads in the transmission casing of my Farmall 300. I just added a 3pt add on hitch from Worksaver and the toughest part was cleaning out the treads. I ended up going to the hardware store and buying the closest tap they had and reaming the holes out with that and then getting several eight strength bolts and reaming the threads with them. The local hardware tap fit the hole, but it needed to be a tad bit larger to be able to deeply clean the threads. Bottomline is I got the top link mounted and life is good. The reason for this posting is that I have do the same thing for 8 bolts for the fenders. Is there a better process and where can I find a tap that will fit deeply into the treads. Thanks Dave Gibson
