Gentlemen, The basic question is this: Will a backhoe off of a Case 580B fit onto a Case 580C? If so, how much modification is required?
The longer version; Family business has a very tired (engine) backhoe that doesn"t seem to have enough power to do much of anything (I think engine might have been run too low on oil once), and the brakes on both sides are mostly gone and unsafe to drive on the road. Local used equipment dealer has a 580C (sans backhoe) that has supposedly been used by a single owner to load mulch at a nursery. This 580C doesn"t have a hoe on it, just a big chunck of steel for ballast/balance. If the hour meter is creditable, it"s just under 2000 hours. Without pictures, what should this tractor be worth? To complicate things, both tractors have a cab on them.
