Is it possible the thermostat is installed incorrectly? We had a '72 Treefarmer Ford diesel that would run fine until left to idle. Then it would blow it's cool. That was a case of a hairline crack in the head. It had to be magnafluxed (sp) to determine the problem. It ran fine after the shop did what they had to do! LOL Mr. T. Minnesota
