I have a little experience..I have been a cat mechanic since 1958. do not sand paper the bore. purchase 50 lbs of "Dry Ice" pack that part of the axle that goes in the taper. let it sit at least 4 hours, overnight if possible. be sure to have an axle nut with a one inch plate welded to it screwed on the end of the axle. hae some one laying under the tractor with the inside nut in place so the axle will go thru it, and he should have a spanner wrench handy insert the axle, hid with a 15 lb sledge, be sure to have the measurements handy and an accurate measuring device.
