2x4 was bang on. Brand new manual thumb for 12 to 16,000lb. excavator $400 at Ritchie bros. auction. Of course there'a a 10% fee on top of that cause it's less than $2500 but I think the price was reasonable. I might have got one for $300 but didn't want to take a chance that a dealer or someone would buy them all. BTDT. I could have built one easily enough but it would take a lot of running around getting materials, figuring out the design, cutting the pieces and then building it. I think it will work well for picking trees out of brush piles so I can spread the dirt back out. Dave
