Boog54; Have owned a D3B with pyramidal tracks for about 3 years now. Mine is also a Japanese machine. First, I like the tracks. Working in New England and do have lots of rocks but I really don"t see an issue. Upside is when ground is wet, and I do have some "soft" areas especially in the spring, the machine "floats" real nice and will push just fine. Regarding Japanese origin. I have no issues finding parts. Had to replace L clutch packing and reline brake band. Sent away for parts, got some from local CAT dealer, local shop relined brake band. All pretty reasonable. So far machine is top notch. Runs great, burns no oil, no smoke, good power for the age. Hope this helps!
